At the height of Covid-19 in 2020, Ampcontrol successfully delivered a full design and construction package for a major Solar farm project in Queensland. The project was fully energized in 2023, generating enough energy to power around 100,000 Queensland homes.
The successful delivery of this solar farm during one of the most challenging periods in recent history underscores Ampcontrol’s resilience, technical capability, and disciplined project management. The site now supplies a significant portion of its output to several Queensland universities, supporting their sustainability goals and contributing to the state’s renewable energy transition.
As part of the design and construction package, Ampcontrol provided:
- Inhouse designed and manufactured integrated switchroom
- Inhouse designed and manufactured earthing transformer
- IEC 61859 substation automation system
- HV and MV protection scheme, interfacing to harmonic filter
- Operations buildings and spares warehouse
