Ampcontrol has been manufacturing and supplying electrical infrastructure and services to the Australasian market for 50+ years. 

As the global push for electrification continues, reliable electrical infrastructure such as HV cables, transformers, substations, battery energy storage systems (BESS), power control systems (PCS), inverters and stand alone power systems (SAPS) is essential in enabling alternative power generation and battery electric technology.

Charging Infrastructure

As industry accelerates towards decarbonisation targets, we have developed a range of reliable and fast charging solutions, essential to enabling the electrification of mining. We offer solutions for surface and underground environments as well as maritime and industrial applications to ensure that reliable fast charging is easily accessible.

Power Infrastructure

We’re well-versed in designing, manufacturing and commissioning complete electrical systems, supplying high-fidelity power infrastructure for load centres. We have a variable suite of substations, transformers, switchgear and starters, as well as renewable power solutions that operate on the latest solar and wind technologies and can competently facilitate energy requirements.  

What is Electrification?

Electrification is the transition from fossil fuel–based or mechanical energy systems to electrically powered systems, supported by modern electrical infrastructure.

This transition relies on power infrastructure such as transformers, substation and switchgear, which form the backbone of electrified networks by transforming and distributing power at appropriate voltage levels. As electrification increases demand from electric vehicles, industrial processes, and mining equipment, infrastructure must be upgraded or added to handle higher loads and ensure safe, reliable power delivery.

While there is a wide range of electrical infrastructure needed when enabling electrification, some key systems include

  • Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) that enable electrification by storing energy for peak demand, backup power, and renewable integration. They improve reliability, reduce reliance on diesel generation, and support grid stability for both connected and remote applications.
  • Power Conversion Systems (PCS) provide the control and interface between the grid, BESS, and loads, converting AC and DC power while maintaining voltage and power quality.


Together, all of these systems make electrification reliable, scalable, and capable of supporting a low-emissions energy future.
