Ampcontrol Joins Industry Hall of Fame

Ampcontrol has been inducted into the Industry Hall of Fame at the 2024 University of Newcastle Employability Awards on Wednesday 20 November 2024 for commitment to developing capability in the Hunter region, NSW.

The University of Newcastle’s annual Employability Excellence Awards is a unique opportunity to recognise the community of achievers that enable our reputation for producing life-ready graduates.

“We are immensely proud of our strong relationship with the University of Newcastle. Through collaboration, Ampcontrol has been able to provide university students with meaningful placement and employment opportunities, allowing them to work with industry on real-world challenges and become graduates who are community-minded, resilient, and ready for work,” says Mikhaila Halford, Ampcontrol Workforce Solutions Manager.

Since 2019, Ampcontrol has supported 113 students from the University of Newcastle in placement opportunities across Engineering, Business, Marketing, Information Technology, and Accounting disciplines. Ampcontrol has a strong history of investing in the development of the community, especially in the field of STEM. With government and industry focus on net zero targets and renewable energy sources, Ampcontrol has seen a dramatic increase in students from the Renewable Energy Engineering discipline.

“Ampcontrol has been committed to developing capability in the Hunter region and beyond for over 55 years, with our very first engineering intern remaining employed with the business 40 years on. We’re passionate about developing the next generation of smart minds to challenge the future. We have a strong Capability Development and Leadership Team at Ampcontrol who are focused on mentoring, coaching, and supporting university students as they transition into early career roles,” says Rod Henderson, Ampcontrol Managing Director & CEO.
