50MVA transformer
To take their current production from 6.4Mta to 7.5Mta, a central New South Wales mine engaged Ampcontrol to design, manufacture and install high voltage infrastructure. The 132/11kV project included a 40/50MVA transformer, c/w 11kV substation, 3000A 11kV switchboard and associated protection system.
5MVA Transformer Urgent Inspection and Repair
The mine in Southern Queensland has been supplying coal to local power stations in the area for over thirty years. The mine approached Ampcontrol due to concerns about the condition of a production critical 5MVA transformer on their plant.
Case Study - 132kV Transportable Switchyard
Ampcontrol were recently contacted by a Queensland utility provider seeking a flexible power distribution solution to assist their service teams when responding to outages or conducting routine maintenance.
Case Study - Ampcontrol Hire Fleet: Powering Sydney's WestConnex
Utilising its extensive hire fleet, Ampcontrol is helping to ease congestion and connect communities by powering Sydney's WestConnex, the largest transport infrastructure project in Australia. Ampcontrol undertook the design, supply and commissioning of a complete electrical system from Ausgrid's 11kV point of supply, to surface and underground facilities across the new M4 WestConnex tunnelling sites.
Case Study - Bladin Point LNG Processing Facilities
Working in partnership with the customer, Ampcontrol diagnosed and carried out transformer repairs, oil testing and regeneration successfully and to a high standard.
Case Study - Centennial Coal Relocatable Switchroom
Ampcontrol was contracted to design, manufacture, assemble and test a relocatable switchroom for Centennial Coal along with commissioning the high voltage switchgear and Toshiba VVVF Drive System.
Case Study - Central-Wan Chai Bypass Tunnel - Air Purification System Maintenance
Contracted by equipment supplier FILTRONtec, Ampcontrol provided maintenance works on eight FILTRONtec air filter systems installed in the 3.7 km long Central-Wan Chai Bypass tunnel.
Case Study - Channel Island Power Station Upgrade
Ampcontrol was commissioned to scope and complete the required work to successfully upgrade major asset protection relays as part of a site wide shutdown.
Case Study - H3RO in an Underground Copper Mine
Ampcontrol was engaged by an underground copper mine to provide fibre optics to new underground automated mining equipment. Ampcontrol’s H3RO; harsh environment reticulated fibre optic solution, was deployed from the telecommunications hut on the surface, down a catenary wire through the existing open cut mine and into the new underground mine.
Case Study - H3RO Singapore Tunnelling Project
Tunnelling applications require repeatable patterns of emergency call points every 100m, these call points need to be installed as the tunnel borer progresses while maintaining reliable communications. Ampcontrol deployed H3RO, our harsh environment reticulated optic solution which reduces network complexity and offers plug and play functionality with off the shelf components which do not require fibre specialists to install.
Case Study - H3RO Underground Coal
Ampcontrol were asked to include network connectivity as part of the supply of high voltage, electrical hardware to the underground mine. The mine required easy to deploy fibre optic hardware, for integration with new and existing equipment including third party equipment and patch panels. Utilising H3RO, Ampcontrol’s harsh environment reticulated fibre optic solution, monitoring and control of underground equipment was achieved by connecting from an existing FOBOT patch panel throughout the mine.
Case Study - H3RO Underground Hard Rock
Ampcontrol was engaged by an underground gold and copper mine in Western NSW, to provide fibre optics quickly after an existing communications cable was severed. Ampcontrol’s H3RO, harsh environment reticulated fibre optic solution, was deployed from an existing FOBOT panel for a distance over 1km along the roof, through a number of vertical drops and into another existing FOBOT enclosure.
Case Study - Hire Stock and Fast Action Ensures Minimal Downtime
During routine high voltage maintenance at a surface mine in western NSW, conducted by Ampcontrol’s High Voltage Service team, a transformer failed testing and required inspection and overhaul. To ensure the mine experienced minimal downtime, the on-site team placed a call to our Tomago base to see if a suitable hire replacement was available.
Case Study - Kai Tak Development
Contracted by a leading infrastructure company in Hong Kong, Ampcontrol provided customised low voltage switchboards to allow a connection of 2 x 1400kVA and 1 x 600kVA generators with an auto synchronisation function for temporary power to a rectangle tunnel boring maching at their Kai Tak Development situated between residential homes, a school and a main road.
