Ampcontrol was contracted to supply 46 electrical equipment rooms (EERs) for WestConnex, Australia’s largest transport infrastructure project. The EERs include a transformer, switches, circuits and communication systems to assist with fire control, air quality and fan systems.
Westconnex is the first tunnelling project in Australia where EERs have been manufactured offsite and installed directly into the tunnel, compared to the traditional method of building them in-situ. This method has resulted in a number of positive benefits for the project, namely significantly reduced install time, improved safety and a decrease in the resources required for installation.
