Androck Becomes Ampcontrol

Ampcontrol today announces the strategic focus on strengthening Australian manufacturing and enhancing an Australian-made supply chain. From Wednesday 12 March 2025, Androck Engineering & Mining Pty Limited (Androck) will be known and branded as Ampcontrol.

Following the acquisition of Androck by Ampcontrol in May 2023, the workforce has more than doubled in size to 106 employees and 33 apprentices. Androck’s physical presence has grown to six workshops in Rutherford, NSW and a new geographical location in Mackay, QLD which is 1800m² under cranage.

“We’re passionate about keeping manufacturing jobs within Australia and using our smart minds and expertise to develop new solutions to complex problems in the mining industry. Focus needs to be given to developing an Australian-made and manufactured supply chain, with the acquisition and integration of the Androck business capabilities expanding our services to new and existing mining customers,” says Rod Henderson, Ampcontrol Managing Director & CEO.

“As a country, we have a strong reliance on the global supply chain which has been impacted by several external issues, including the pandemic and conflict. We have the resources within Australia to become more self-sufficient as a nation; with Androck the market leader in cutter head overhaul, further integrating their capabilities into the business brings us another step closer to achieving this goal.”

Established in 2006, Androck specialised in machining, fabrication, hydraulics, and electrical repairs with the engineering capabilities to solve complex machinery problems across common underground equipment including continuous miners, shuttle cars and multi-bolters.

From Wednesday 12 March 2025, Androck will be known and branded as Ampcontrol, with their existing product and service offerings forming part of the trusted and reputable Ampcontrol offering. This includes access to their machining services through a fully onsite independent Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine shop. The integration will lead to a more streamlined customer experience, and improved access to shared knowledge.

Ampcontrol has 30 sites across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Mongolia.
