International Demand for ATF Expertise

Two turnkey electrical packages, by specialist supplier ATF Mining Electrics, were delivered halfway across the world to Germany and installed on two roadheaders.

The packages were transported from the company’s Australia workshop to Germany where the roadheaders were assembled and two ATF employees installed, wired and tested the packages.

The customised electrics included IEC certified flameproof enclosures for the control equipment, headlights, emergency stop and junction boxes, an Ampcontrol Gasguard system and Burn Brite hazardous area lights for lighting around the machine.

The roadheaders have been dismantled for shipping to the South Island of New Zealand where they will be used for cutting roadways and coal cutting production in a coal mine.

Once there, ATF personnel will reconnect and commission the roadheaders as well as provide training for the completed machines.

Three decades at the forefront of machine electrics means ATF are a preferred supplier of integrated electrical systems for the mining, hazardous area and tunnelling sectors.
