Gasguard Real Time Monitoring System

The Ampcontrol Real Time Gas Monitoring System features Ampcontrol’s Gasguard 2 robust smart gas detectors and Gasguard Live digital user interface.

The Gasguard system features a built in iMAC interface which connects directly to the iMAC fieldbus. Each module reports via a pulse width modulated signal on a single twisted pair cable to the iMAC Controller located on the surface of the mine.

The surface iMAC Controller is interlocked with the underground power feeds and interfaced with the mine PLC – SCADA system for completely integrated monitoring and control.

The system provides compliant gas detection and a range of automated tests which reduces the instances of human error. When combined with our digital record keeping, diagnostic and configuration tool, Gasguard Live, this system improves maintenance times, ensures traceability and makes compliance easy to manage.

Gasguard Live provides you with clear visualisation of the detector data, communication health, trip location and calibration records. In addition, with the help of automatic recording of calibration results, trip logs and system configuration changes, compliance can be easily managed.

With surface access to live data you have the information and system status to aid in early intervention when and where you need it. It also provides the ability to undertake remote system configuration which can improve maintenance times, ensure traceability of work undertaken and improve system availability.

Gasguard 2

The next evolution in our Gasguard range of sensors and controllers designed to tolerate harsh mining and infrastructure conditions is now available.

Gasguard 2 comprises of an Intrinsically Safe (Ex ia I Ma) display module which allows for the display and transmission of detector data and system information. With enhanced features, it offers a range of automated tests including telemetry, t90 response time, environmental data and detector information to ensure peak performance on site.

The display module interfaces to a range of detectors for monitoring the atmospheric concentration of the target gas including oxygen, methane, carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide.

Gasguard

Our Gasguard product range of sensors and controllers is designed to tolerate the arduous and demanding conditions synonymous with infrastructure and mining projects.

Gasguard is designed, manufactured and serviced through quality assurance and NATA certified workshop facilities and is backed by engineering resources and our 24/7 customer support.

The comprehensive range of sensors include gas detectors for oxygen, methane, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, nitric oxide and hydrogen sulphide.

Dieselguard

Dieselguard provides gas and temperature monitoring, machine shutdown, alarm status and data acquisition for diesel machines in underground mines.

It features in-built control functions to facilitate safe operation of diesel machines by allowing engine start-up only when explosive gas concentrations are below safe limits, and engine shut down if concentrations reach or exceed those limits.

iQguard Gas Detection

Our iQguard range of fixed gas detectors and systems is designed to detect the presence of toxic gas in the surrounding air. The iQguard detectors provide industry standard output signals that can interface with building monitoring or plant control systems. The systems can drive equipment such as ventilation fans and warning alarms, reducing the probability of potentially harmful situations.

Emergency Evacuation Warning Solution

Ampcontrol’s emergency evacuation warning solutions are an integrated monitoring, communications and alarming system hub for the multiple devices used in underground tunnelling applications.

The system uses Citect SCADA fully integrated industrial control solutions and acts as a hub for multiple devices, providing integrated voice communications, audible and visual alarming and location identification, and evacuation notifications for fire, gas and flood situations. The solution includes an underground communications system that can communicate to the emergency response control room in real time, managing emergency events quickly and efficiently.

The emergency evacuation warning solution can also provide data analysis on environmental gas level trends ensuring the safety of personnel in underground locations over extended periods.
