Showcasing around 13,000sqm of manufacturing space across our Tomago operations comes quite easily to Ampcontrol CEO and Managing Director, Rod Henderson.
“Most visitors to our Tomago sites have the same reaction; surprise. The scale of operations we have here, coupled with highly specialised manufacturing plant and personnel, really tells a story about Ampcontrol’s offering” said Mr Henderson.
The Australian Advanced Manufacturing Council along with representatives from the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science were escorted around Ampcontrol’s power distribution and fabrication facilities this week as part of a national tour of advanced Australian manufacturing operations.
From its Hunter and Mackay operations, Ampcontrol engineers and builds specialist power distribution systems and electronics products that aim to deliver safe, efficient electrical power solutions for hazardous environments.
With a unique offering which spans market sectors, visitors were able to see one of Ampcontrol’s most recent projects under development; a custom skid base for a solar farm in Cook Town. Fabricated onsite, the large skid base was designed to accommodate both a switchroom and transformer all of which are being installed by Ampcontrol technicians. The final project will be commissioned by Ampcontrol onsite in Cook Town.
