Ampcontrol has been awarded an Engineers Australia Newcastle Division, Engineering Excellence Award for the advancement of arc fault venting in electrical enclosures.
This project encompassed two key innovations, the development of a novel method of synthesising the pressure versus time characteristic from measured arc fault events in sealed enclosures using energetic materials and the development of a composite high speed rupturing vent.
Motivated by the need to ensure higher levels of safety for personnel, plant and equipment in the vicinity of live electrical enclosures this project exemplified Ampcontrol’s commitment to safety as our number one priority.
This award follows Ampcontrol’s 2013 Newcastle Engineering Excellence Award and National Engineering Innovation Award for the management of VSD earth leakage currents in fault limited networks.
